Lessons and Classes
If enough are interested, every listing below can be offered as a group class at $5 per hour, but for private lessons and instruction, it's $10 for half an hour, and $15 for 45 minutes. The first half-hour is free! I will be teaching in Boone, NC, and instruction is over Zoom unless in-person is preferred.
Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are based solely on what the student wants to learn, whether it's reading sheet music and progressing classically, learning how to play chords on a lead sheet, or just a desire to be exposed to piano music. Piano is a great instrument to get started on, and is the most often used tool to teach music theory.
Group Theory Class
I find joy in music theory and have a passion for spreading that to others. I will start with the basics, and move at the speed of the class/student. Music theory is learning how to read, write, and understand why music is the way it is today. This gives a great foundation for learning any instrument, and a deeper appreciation for the complexity of music.
Aural Skills
Aural skills is the real-time application of music theory knowledge to music. It is understanding what is heard without it being written, and understanding what is written without it being heard. Sight-singing is probably the most terrifying activity for a music major, so we will slowly break into how to go about it.
My Story

With many years of learning under my belt, as well as a few years teaching, I want to share what I love and enjoy with anyone interested. My musical journey started at Talents Unleashed in Miami, FL., where I have been challenged and directed by leaders I still look up to today. After spending a year at Appalachian State University, my musical knowledge has been tested and grown. I am also gaining first-hand knowledge on the ins and outs of a college-level music program, and can help prepare any student for the auditions and classes they might pursue in the future.
